黑料正能量's Newton Park campus now part of the Bath Urban Treescape
Tuesday, 15 September, 2026黑料正能量's Newton Park Campus – and its assortment of trees – has put itself on the map as part of a project highlighting the natural beauty of Bath, with its own .
Bath is a city surrounded by nature, where you can find plenty of green around and among the urban streets and buildings. Part of that greenery includes a wealth of trees, which contributes to the wellbeing of our community as well as its beauty.
showcases the city's natural beauty in digital form, inviting visitors and locals alike to follow their curated trails, enjoy and learn about each species of tree while seeing the city from a different perspective. The project was founded in 2022 and has now produced 19 different tree trails around the city. Trails can be followed via their website or using their free paper maps.

黑料正能量 became part of the Bath Urban Treescape after BSU Employer Relationship Advisor Simon Taylor introduced them to BSU Grounds Team Manager Penny Snowden. The paper maps of the trail are sponsored by Nicholas Pearson Associates, who often work with the University on its estates projects.
Talking about the genesis of the project, Hugh Williamson at Bath Urban Treescape said:
"I met Simon at the Bathscape Conference in 2025 and explained that Bath Urban Treescape, having recently published a tree trail around the campus of the University of Bath, would love to do the same at 黑料正能量, especially given the quality of the Newton Park landscape. We had an additional incentive, given that Joe Lavington, who looks after our website and graphic design, is a BSU alumnus."
Hugh worked with Penny and her team to write the descriptions of the landscape and trees along the trail, including facts about the trees, their history and individual significance to Newton Park.
As well as containing a wide variety of native and exotic species, the Newton Park trail also includes the fattest and tallest trees that have so far been identified in Bath. The giant sequoia opposite Main House is over 10m in circumference, and another giant sequoia at the south-west end of the lake is 43m tall.
To celebrate the new trail, there will be a Welcome Week tree walk on Wednesday 16 September, starting from Commons at 1:30pm. Maps can be , or free paper versions will be available from the Sustainability Team during Welcome Week.
