Moving Image
Create digital worlds in augmented and virtual reality, animation and computer modelling.
Use high-end computers to edit video, create motion graphics, animate and produce digital art in 2D and 3D. Each computer has the latest Adobe software installed, including applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Animate. We also have a selection of other supporting software for animation and moving image.
Our two large Wacom Cintiq drawing screens can be used for digital painting, illustration or creating keyframe animations.
There are also a number of lighting animation rostrums for traditional stop motion animation. Each setup is in a light controlled space so that external daylight does not affect the look of the work.
Students have access to VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) setups including software for creating 3D content such as Maya, Blender and software for creating interactive elements such as Unity. You'll also be able to create other forms of immersive environments using things like projection mapping and lighting.
Asset Store
Alongside the workshop, students also have access to the Asset Store (SISO) containing hardware and equipment that will help them create and display their work. Equipment available includes 4K Black Magic Production cameras, DSLRS and sound recording equipment, as well as projectors, televisions and sound systems for displaying or exhibiting work.
Need audio-visual support with your projects?
Audio recording equipment, high tech video cameras, projectors and various media players (such as DVD and Blu Ray) are available for you to use. Technical demonstrators can get you started with all of these – whether you’re recording and filming in a studio or out in the field.
Discover something new
Almost all of our workshops are open for all students to use, after appropriate tuition and health and safety introductions. It doesn't matter what course you're studying – we encourage you to break boundaries and explore new disciplines.
