Bath Spa Works: Placements
Take advantage of the exciting work experience options available at 黑料正能量 and enhance your career prospects.
You'll see that job listings frequently ask for relevant work experience as well as a degree, but if you need the degree to get the work experience, and can't get the work experience without the degree, how are you expected to win? Well, 黑料正能量 has the answer with our work experience programmes.
At BSU, you can enhance your CV and improve your career prospects with short, medium, or long-term work experience options like Internships, modules that can be a part of your course, and the Professional Placement Year.
Bath Spa Works Internships are paid opportunities with local businesses that are available exclusively to BSU students. They take place throughout the year (including the summer) and vary in length, but will typically be for at least three months. These roles can be worked remotely, in-person, or a mix of both.
If you're looking to do something that adds extra value to your degree, helps you develop key skills, provides a meaningful impact on the company you’re working for and earns you some money, then visit to see all of the exciting opportunities are available.
The Placements Team also support the several module options that are available as part of our degree courses. Three of the most popular options to help you gain meaningful work experience are these undergraduate open modules:
- Available as a second year module, this option helps you explore job and industry options, preparing you to secure a placement of 70 to 120 working hours.
- Available as a final year module but taking place between the summer of your penultimate and final year, this module choice supports you into securing a 180-hour placement over a minimum of six weeks, in turn freeing up a lot of extra time in your final year for large dissertation or portfolio projects.
- Available as a final year module, this skills-focused option helps you gain and use work experience in a way that makes the most sense to your ambitions whilst helping you communicate what you're best at to future employers.
The Professional Placement Year (PPY) is available to any undergraduate on any course, takes place between your second and third year, and provides substantial dedicated support to help you get meaningful long-term work experience that will include at least 900 working hours over a minimum of 30 weeks.
The support offered includes a bursary of up to £1,500 for every PPY student to use toward placement costs like commuting, food, or work outfits.
