ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ also had a presence all day during Pride events at The Downs in Bristol, which featured over 250 artists performing across multiple stages.

Luanne Thornton, Chair of BSU’s LGBTQIA+ Staff Network said:

“As the LGBTQIA+ Staff Network Chair, I'm delighted that the University continues to support events like Bristol Pride and stand alongside our LGBTQIA+ staff and students. At a time when the UK has slipped significantly in the rankings, it's a reminder that progress can never be taken for granted.

“Seeing our university represented at Bristol Pride sends a powerful message: that we will continue to celebrate and support our LGBTQIA+ community reassuring staff and students alike. "

ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ was named The Sunday Times University of the Year for Social Inclusion in 2024. The University’s partnerships and sponsored events aim to create opportunities that further foster a sense of belonging and allyship to the LGBTQIA+ community at BSU, and across the South West. Throughout June, BSU, its cultural partners and other museums, historic buildings and venues across the city also celebrated the lives, stories, and creativity of the LGBTQIA+ community during the Queer Bath Festival.
