New Season, New Look: Graduate Rosie Spring designs Bath City’s 2026/27 away shirt

Friday, 14 August, 2026

The legacy of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿’s multi-year collaboration with Bath City Football Club continues to grow, with yet another student-designed shirt wowing locals and supporters alike.

A year after a ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿’s student-designed third shirt captured national attention and won industry recognition; another graduate has left her mark on the club by designing its new away kit.

Graphic Communication graduate Rosie Spring, who completed her degree in 2025, created the striking blue away shirt inspired by one of Bath's most recognisable landmarks – the Royal Crescent.

The design follows the success of last season's award-winning black and gold third shirt, continuing a growing partnership between ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ and Bath City Football Club that gives students the opportunity to work on real-world creative briefs while seeing their ideas come to life.

For Rosie, seeing supporters embrace a design inspired by the city she called home during her studies has been an unforgettable experience.

"I actually designed the shirt during my last week of University. I was so gutted to be leaving Bath that week, so I think I was feeling really nostalgic. That's why I wanted to centre the design around the city rather than just the club."

The Royal Crescent became the focal point of her design after years of creating memories there with friends during her time at BSU.

"Whenever people ask where I went to university, they always mention the Crescent. Before I came to Bath, that's all I really knew about the city. My friends and I spent so much time there, sitting in the sunshine, playing football and making memories. It just felt like the right place to celebrate."

Rosie's design process also paid tribute to Bath City's history, using the club's historic light blue colours in a modern, understated way after researching previous kits. The colours also represent a footballing connection between BCFC and Italian side Lecco, dating back to a supporters' visit over ten years ago.

Since graduating from BSU, Rosie has been working as a graphic designer and is preparing to begin a new role in digital marketing later this year. She credits her time at BSU not only with developing her design skills, but with giving her the confidence to present ideas in professional environments.

"Before coming to university, I was scared to put my ideas out there. I'd never had the experience of standing in a room or joining a Teams call and saying, 'This is my idea – what do you think?'

"Without my time at BSU, I wouldn't be as confident as I am today. Even in my job now, I regularly have to present ideas and explain why I think they'll work. I wouldn't have those skills without university."

Rosie says the opportunity to work alongside Bath City and technical partner Macron gave her an invaluable insight into the commercial design process, from early concepts through to production.

"These are opportunities I never imagined I'd have. Working with the club, seeing the different samples, understanding how the whole process works, it's been an amazing experience and something that's really helped prepare me for my career."

Although Rosie originally entered the competition to design last season's third shirt, her concept was so striking that she was instead offered the chance to create the club's away kit for the upcoming campaign – an opportunity she says demonstrates the importance of putting yourself forward.

"This project is a prime example. I didn't get the opportunity I originally went for, but I was offered another one instead. We're never going to get these opportunities if we don't put ourselves out there."

She hopes fellow BSU students will be inspired to take the same approach. Offering advice, Rosie said:

"Take every opportunity you're given. Enter everything you can and really put yourself out there."

Announced last week on the club’s social media channels, Rosie’s design has received widespread praise and a particularly strong reaction from diehard fans. Speaking about that connection to the club, Rosie said:

"I wanted the design to resonate with people who have supported the club for years. To see the reaction from fans and how much people like it has been incredible."
