Locksbrook Late: Porthleven Prize gallery opening
Thursday 22 October, 2026 – Thursday 22 October, 20265:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Locksbrook Campus
Now in its thirteenth year, the Porthleven Prize – supported by the Trevor Osborne Charitable Trust – is an established BSU institution. Open to students from all courses and year groups, the Prize offers a two-part residency model: a three-day programme in and around Bath for twenty students, followed by a fully funded 14-day residency in Porthleven, Cornwall for eight selected finalists.
The Porthleven Prize encourages multidisciplinary collaboration, exploring ideas from various fields of enquiry and media. This immersive experience challenges our perceptions of origins, landscape, and community, inspiring innovative and creative responses.
Activities are structured around discussions, collaborative and individual research sessions, guest-led presentations and workshops. The activities aim to take the participants beyond their normal fields of expression through explorations of site specific and socially engaged practices.
The resulting exhibition by the eight finalists presents work made in direct response to participants' experience of both landscapes, culminating in shows in both Porthleven and Bath.
For this edition of the Locksbrook Lates at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿, expect an evening of creativity, collaboration and sharing. The 2026 finalists have programmed an evening of activities and performances along the opening of their showcase exhibition, Sâwn/Zawn.
Students and staff welcome. No booking required.
