Navigation for All: A Practical Workshop on Accessible Campus Wayfinding
Tuesday 27 October, 2026 – Tuesday 27 October, 202610:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Join us for a full-day workshop exploring how app-free indoor navigation can make our campuses easier to navigate for students, staff, and visitors.
About the workshop
Led by Connell Gauld, CTO of Zappar, the morning session will introduce Zapworks Spaces – how it works, what it can do, and how it has already been piloted here at Bath Spa. The afternoon will be hands-on: attendees will work with the technology directly, including using the Matterport camera to capture a space and trying out the navigation in situ within a real building on campus.
About Connell Gauld

About Zappar and Zapworks Spaces
Zappar is a UK-based technology company specialising in augmented reality and spatial computing. Their platform, Zapworks Spaces, delivers inclusive indoor navigation for complex environments – without the need for apps, hardware, or ongoing maintenance. It runs directly in the browser, so users can scan a QR code or click a link and receive clear, spoken, turn-by-turn instructions. Accessibility is built in from the ground up, enabling blind, low-vision, and wheelchair users to move through complex spaces with confidence.
Zappar has already worked with ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ on a pilot project for accessible navigation, which you can read more about . You can also find out more about Zapworks Spaces on
Who it's for
No technical background is required. The workshop is aimed at staff but relevant for anyone interested in accessibility, student experience, campus wayfinding, or the practical application of emerging technology in a university setting.
Both staff and students welcome!
