Alumni Records
The Alumni Records Office provides final award certificates and transcripts, as well as academic references and replacement documents.
From summer 2026, new graduates will be given access to the MyCertificate system.
If you received an award before 29 June 2026, please contact us (alumnirecords@bathspa.ac.uk) regarding award verification or replacement documents. Please confirm your full name at the time of your studies, your ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ student number (if known) and your date of birth. You will also need to provide a photo of formal identification, such as a passport or driving license, in order to verify your identity.
Please remember that your award certificate is a unique document; we do not keep copies. Please store it carefully – should you lose or destroy it, you will be charged if you request a replacement.
Increasingly, employers and other higher education institutions will require more detail about your programme of studies. It is advised that you retain copies of course, subject and module handbooks, and your assessments. Please note that the Alumni Records Office does not hold these documents and we will not be able to provide them to you if later required.
MyCertificate
What is MyCertificate?
To enhance the security, accessibility, and authenticity of your award documentation, we are pleased to introduce the MyCertificate portal.
The MyCertificate portal will allow you to:
- View electronic versions of your award documents
- Order a printed copy of your certificate to be sent to your chosen address
- Share your documents securely with third parties (e.g. employers)
- Manage and control access to your documents
- Receive and respond to requests for document verification.
Your electronic documents will be held and shared within a secure environment. Each document includes enhanced security features, such as a unique background design, micro-text borders, QR code verification, and wording confirming its validity as an official electronic document. These measures help protect against fraud and ensure the integrity of your award.
This new system also supports the growing demand for digital documentation, while reducing the need for paper copies and lowering our environmental impact.
The MyCertificate portal can be accessed on multiple devices (mobile, tablet, and desktop) and across common browsers.
Accessing MyCertificate
You will receive an email inviting you to access the MyCertificate system within four to eight weeks of receiving your results email or withdrawal confirmation.
The first time you access the system you will need to click on the link sent to you via email. You will then be guided through the process of registering for the system.
Once you have registered, you can login and access your documents via the .
If you have any questions, please read the .
Replacement awards
Please note that if we do not hold an electronic student record for you (i.e. your record pre-dates the introduction of the University's electronic database system) it may not be possible to provide a replacement transcript or certificate.
Replacement certificates
Please note that the University does not keep copies of certificates, as only one degree certificate may be in circulation at any one time.
Replacement certificates can therefore only be re-issued or purchased if your original certificate has been lost, returned to the University, or destroyed. The applicant must make a written declaration that, should a replacement be issued, it will be returned if the original is subsequently found.
We will need to verify your details before we produce the certificate.
Please note that replacements, while having precisely the same standing as the originals they replace, are produced in the current format and may not therefore be an exact copy of the original.
The University takes fraudulent applications very seriously and will report any such instances to the relevant authorities.
Awarding body
Awards from August 2005 will have been made by ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿.
Any awards prior to August 2005 will have been made by ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ College or Bath College of Higher Education. This means that we can only provide replacement certified copies of certificates.

If you are unsure who awarded your certificate, please contact us (alumnirecords@bathspa.ac.uk) before sending payment so that we can confirm the awarding body for your qualification.

Name amendment
The student's name on the certificate should match the student's official record as held by the University. This is the definitive record of the student and their achievement. This information is used for the production of graduation proceedings and degree certificates and names are not normally changed after graduation, unless a spelling or administrative error has been made.
However, the University is aware of its responsibilities under the Gender Recognition Act 2004 and Equality Act 2010. In circumstances where an individual has changed their name as a result of a change in their gender presentation, and the individual asks the University to reissue a certificate in their new name, this request will be granted upon production of proof of name change.
Individuals will also be asked how they want their official University record to be reflected for the future and the record will be updated accordingly. Individuals will be required to return their original degree certificate before a new degree certificate will be issued. Changes of name on a degree certificate post-graduation in other circumstances will not be permitted.
