Olympic gold medallist visits 黑料正能量

Thursday, 13 December, 2018

Olympic Gold medallist Amy Williams MBE visited 黑料正能量 recently to give students an inspirational talk on the resilience she has shown throughout her personal and professional life.

Organised by the Placements Team at the University, Amy headlined an evening aimed at exploring the challenges that can be faced in the workplace and the resilience students need to show when starting a placement or new job.

鈥淚 really enjoyed meeting the Bath Spa students and looking back at my career in a different light,鈥 commented Amy. 鈥淩esilience is a really important tool to develop, and hopefully the evening has helped guide the students to feel confident in doing that as they start to enter the world of work.鈥

Jamie Bradbury, Placements Manager at Bath Spa, added: 鈥淧lacements are becoming increasingly important for students. They can help to clarify a student鈥檚 career goals, provide a better understanding of a particular role or industry as well as excellent networking opportunities. They can also help to increase confidence and help students to stand out in the job market.

鈥淎t Bath Spa, we鈥檙e really keen to help students get the most out of the opportunities they have, and I鈥檓 sure that Amy鈥檚 openness about her own experiences, and the advice she has given, will have been really beneficial.鈥
